What ₹25 lakh buys in Goa
Published 17 August 2026 · Updated 14 September 2026
Here is what the money actually buys at three tiers: worked budgets built from the rates in our venue book, not from a brochure. The planning fee sits on top of each one.
These are worked scenarios from the rates we hold, not quotes. Your month, guest list and menu will move every line — that is what the datecheck is for.
₹12–15 lakh: the villa weekend, 60–80 guests
A private villa or small heritage property taken whole for two nights, catering brought in, one evening event and the wedding morning. The money splits roughly a third to the property, a third to food and bar, and a third to decor, photography and the rest. What it buys that money cannot buy elsewhere: the whole place is yours, and the 10pm rule softens when there are no neighbours in earshot. What it gives up: rooms — most villas sleep twenty-something, so the wider guest list stays in hotels nearby and the transport plan matters.
₹18–22 lakh: the boutique wedding, 100–150 guests
A boutique hotel or four-star beach resort, two events, most guests on the property. Food at ₹3,000-something a plate for two meals is the biggest line; the room block at a two-night minimum runs it close. This is the tier where October against December decides whether you fit under ₹25 lakh at all — the same wedding moves by lakhs on the calendar alone, and the season guide shows why October keeps coming up.
₹25 lakh, tightly run: the five-star wedding, 100–120 guests
A five-star beachfront property is reachable under ₹25 lakh, on conditions: a shoulder-season date, a guest list that respects the minimum guarantee rather than fighting it, one main event plus the ceremony, and decor that spends on the mandap and the couple's frame instead of everywhere at once. The minimum guarantee is the whole game at this tier — 120 guests against a 150-plate minimum works; 120 against 300 does not.
Is ₹25 lakh enough for a destination wedding in Goa?
Yes. ₹25 lakh comfortably covers a villa wedding for 60–80 guests or a boutique-resort wedding for 100–150 guests including stay, and reaches a five-star beachfront wedding for around 100–120 guests on a shoulder-season date. The three levers that keep it under budget are the month, the guest count, and the venue's minimum guarantee. Christmas week at a five-star is a different budget entirely.
Where couples blow the budget
Not on the venue. On the quiet lines: the second and third event nobody costed, bar service billed by consumption without a cap, the room block committed without a release date, and December. Each is avoidable in the contract stage and expensive after it. This is most of what a planner is for at this budget — the fee pays for itself in the minimums and clauses it moves.
Questions we hear on this
Can you do a Goa wedding in under ₹15 lakh?
Yes, at the villa tier for 60–80 guests, or at a boutique property in October or the monsoon. Under ₹10 lakh means trimming to one event and a short guest list, which suits plenty of couples. The planning fee is on top of that figure.
What percentage of a Goa wedding budget goes to the venue and rooms?
At a residential destination wedding, stay plus food is usually half the budget or more — often ahead of decor and photography combined. In your home city guests sleep at home; in Goa you are housing them for two nights, and that block is frequently the single largest line.
Is a December wedding possible under ₹25 lakh?
Early December at the boutique tier, yes, with a disciplined guest list. Christmas and New Year week, realistically no at the five-star tier — venue rates can double and minimums rise with them. The same wedding in October costs lakhs less.
Do these budgets include the planner’s fee?
No. The worked scenarios above are venue, stay, food, decor and photography, and the planning fee is on top. Ours is published as a flat ₹5–25 lakh+, set by scope after the first call, not a percentage that grows with your budget.
